It was an absolute pleasure working with Dormer King over the summer for a dormer and chimney removal job. Our family has been living in our current house for 20 years now but it was the first time we ever worked with professional contractors, and they DID NOT disappoint. Dormer King is a very well-managed company with owners who are honest, knowledgeable, and friendly, not to mention all the staff. They are an extremely organized company with awesome communication between themselves and to the customers, which makes everyone’s lives SOOOO much easier. If you need to make any changes or run into any issues, you just tell Annmarie at the office, and the message gets relayed to the relevant person right away. She is extremely responsive to all your needs so everything will get done in a timely manner and you don’t have to chase people down or wait for answers, which has made this whole process so much easier. They are also upfront with the costs and don’t try to rip you off, never got any surprises with the spreadsheet. With elderly parents, a toddler, and 2 dogs, it was not an option for us to move out while the construction was in progress. The framing/demolition team led by the manager, Angel was absolutely wonderful. He comes in every morning with the biggest smile and explains the schedule for the week, what will be done, who and how many of his staff will be coming in and out, how much noise to expect, etc. We were well informed throughout the entire process and knew exactly what to expect until the end, which I find to be very important. Our family is still so thankful that Angel and his wonderful team truly made sure that our family’s safety was top priority throughout the hardest part of the construction. When our construction started, it was literally the 2 hottest days of this Summer with temperatures over 100 degrees, yet the team, always so pleasant, made sure all our furniture is well covered each morning and made sure everything is vacuumed and cleaned up by end of their work day even though they will be back in the morning. They are so clean and considerate, not just towards people but to your belongings. When they ripped out my chimney on the first floor, I literally have never seen so much dust and thought it would like weeks to clean up but nope, by end of the day, the millions of brick pieces were gone. Unlike other companies, they don’t leave the dump truck in front of your house, they take all the trash and the dump truck with them daily. My neighbors had absolutely no complaints throughout the construction and only had good things to say, which was amazing. They also work so fast that when I was leaving for work at 8am, they started removing the existing second floor and by the time I came home at 6pm, the new frame was in place. They finished the job faster than they originally estimated. We ran into a small issue at the end bc the shower pan we ordered from amazon didn’t come with the drain cover that was supposed to be included. We had a hard time trying to find a replacement due to the size but Tommy, one of the owners, totally went out of his way to get us one even though we were all paid and pretty much done with the company. With such a big job that was just done, you would think that a small shower drain is so minimal to the contractors but again SO CONSIDERATE!
